Willie Lee Roach, husband of the late Judy Roach, passed away on January 18, 2025, at McLeod Hospice House. Born on June 23, 1936, Willie lived a life marked by humility, kindness, and an unwavering spirit that touched everyone he encountered.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished by his beloved family. Left to honor his memory are his devoted son, Mike Roach and his wife Kathryn of Florence; his loving daughter, Myra Melton and her husband Lane of Jefferson; as well as his treasured grandchildren, Hope (Patrick), Clifton (Dessiree), Samantha (Garrett), Elizabeth (Raffy), and Michael; his great-grandchildren, Parker, Isabella, Madison, Maverick, and Mason. He also leaves behind his sisters, Marlene Terry and Carolyn Mooneyham, both of Bethune, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will forever hold onto the memories they created with him.
Willie's sincere and easy-going nature shaped the very essence of who he was. His love for life blossomed in the moments he spent reading his Bible, where he found spiritual nourishment, and his unyielding passions for playing Bingo and Chicken Foot at The Manor in Florence, where he formed friendships that felt like family. An avid artist, Willie brought his creativity to life through his art, finding joy in expressing himself. He also took great pleasure in yard work and gardening, embracing the beauty of nature and nurturing the world around him. He was an US Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Mary Collins Roach, his brother Jerry Roach, and his granddaughter Meagan Mirarchi, all of whom he held dear in his heart.
A funeral service to celebrate his remarkable life will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Jefferson, SC. at 2:00 PM, burial will be in the church cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home. Pastor Terry Corder will officiate the services. The family will greet the guest in the fellowship hall following the church services.
