William Courter Mozingo, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. William Courter Mozingo, Jr., 73, of Hartsville.  He passed away Monday evening, August 21^st, 2023, with his wife and daughter by his side.

Mr. Mozingo was born in Hartsville, a son of the late William Courter, Sr. & Eliza Jane Wilson Mozingo.  He was the owner and operator of Mozingo Auto Transport for 40 years; hauling cars from the East to West Coasts.  William was an avid NASCAR fan, who loved Dale Earnhardt, Sr.  He was a loving husband and a “super-fantastic deddy.”  We will always be “The 3 Mozingos.”  The memories that we have in our hearts will remain forever and he will be missed by all who knew him. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Shirley Kelley Mozingo of the home and a daughter, Anna Jane Mozingo of Hartsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

His service will be conducted at 11:00 on Friday morning, August 25^th, 2023, by the graveside of Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery (Bishopville) with Reverend Nat Brown officiating.  The family will be speaking with friends following the service at the graveside.
