View Remembrance Video Hartsville, S.C. William C. McAlister, age 88, went home to be with his Lord & Savior on November 16. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Rod Elliott and Rev. Lin Kirkman will officiate. Burial will be in the Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 5-7 at the funeral Home. Mr. McAlister was born in Florence a son of the late Luther & Ethel McGee McAlister. He was a member of Kelleytown Baptist Church, retired from Sonoco Products Company after 40 years of service, member of the Old Timers Club, Veteran of WW II, and received the Army Occupation Medal, WWII Victory Medal , served with the 505 MP Battalion and served as a Military Policeman. Mr. McAlister was always a humble and gentle man. Surviving are his wife, Mildred Faye McAlister, Hartsville; three daughters, Nancy (Ron) Kinlaw, Beaufort, S.C., Carolyn (Clyde) Fletcher, Raleigh, N.C. and Margie (Jim) McAteer, Ellijay, GA; one sister, Diane (Wilbur) Parrott, Florence; five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Baxley McAlister; three brothers, Ellis, Charles and Ronald McAlister; three sisters, Elizabeth McKnight, Belva Matthews and Iva Lee Williamson.
