HARTSVILLE Services for William George Johnson will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel in Dillon. Burial with military honors will be held in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens in Cheraw, SC. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Johnson, 94, died Saturday, September 19, 2015 at his residence.Born in Chesterfield County, SC, April 10, 1921, he was the son of the late William W. Johnson and Annie Jane Johnson. He was a World War II Veteran from December 8, 1941-December 1945. He worked for Delta Finishing for 12 years, and Oak River Mills for 22 years until retirement.Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Johnson Sutton of Hartsville; 4 grandchildren, Genia Blackwell (Scott), Rhonda Beckham (Will), DeWayne Johnson (Cindy), and Lynne O. Quairry; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Rita Ann Johnson.Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, William & Annie Johnson; foster parents, Charles Johnson, Hardley & Minnie Johnson, Olin Johnson, Linda Taylor, Janice River, Sadie Rudelic, and Eva Brigman; son, Tyrone Eugene Johnson of Sumter, SC; wives, Martha Quick Johnson of East; Francis O'Toole Usher Johnson of Bennettsville, SC, and Ruby Clark of Cheraw, SC.
