William David Hopkins passed away 7/24/23 after a long illness. He was born in Sumter, 12/9/51. He was the son of the late Harrison Hopkins and Rosa March Hopkins, the husband of Mary Ann Kelly Hopkins.
David retired from Monti Inc in June 2020 and was previously employed with Bosh in Sumter and Reeves Brothers in Bishopville. He loved collecting race car memorabilia and enjoyed auto racing. David was very outgoing and never met a stranger, always jolly and ready for a good laugh.
David is survived by his wife and his sister, Judy Jackson Smith (Bryan), his nephew Zan Jackson (Melanie), niece April Saverance (Pat), great nephews AJ Jackson, Daniel Jackson, Patterson Saverance, Mathew Saverance, and great niece Julee Saverance.
He was preceded in death by his brother -in-laws, Jay Kelly and Alex Jackson.
Visitation will be held at Norton Funeral Home in Bishopville Tuesday, 7/25 from 5pn - 7pm and graveside services will be at Cedar Creek Baptist Church at 11am on Wednesday, 7/26. Rev. Bobby James will officiate.
