William (Bea) M Atkinson, Jr.

William (Bea) M. Atkinson, Jr. age 76 passed away June 20 at McLeod Hospice House with his loving family by his side.

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 3:00 at the New Market Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Grover Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be at the residence at 226 East Old Camden Road, Hartsville, S.C. on Friday anytime after 1:00 pm.

Bea was born in Hartsville a son of the late William M. Atkinson, Sr. and Nell Louise Johnson Atkinson. He retired from AT&T after 40 years of service. He loved the Gamecocks. He coached Baseball at the Hartsville Northern League and was inducted in the Hartsville Northern League Hall of Fame in 2022.

Surviving is one son, Rocky (Michael) Atkinson, Hartsville; one daughter, Tina (Dusty) Atkinson, Sumter; eight grandchildren, Kaylynn (Cameron) Anderson, Elexys Davis, Daisie Atkinson, Dalton Hodge, Jace Atkinson, Bealer Atkinson, Zoey Hodge and Jaden Atkinson; three great grandchildren, Hayes Hall, Maddie Anderson and Aidan Anderson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Rodney Atkinson; two brothers, Steve Atkinson and Billy Ray Atkinson.

The family would like to express a Thank You to the McLeod Hospice House and especially to his Hospice caregivers, Butch Boan and Shameeka Washington.
