Willene Coward

Funeral services for Willene Price Coward age 86, who passed away July 15 in Ontaria, Ohio, will be held Thursday at 2:00 at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville. Burial will be in the McBee Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Coward was born in Lugoff a daughter of the late Willie K. & Rosa Edna Truesdale Price.. The family lived in Shelby Ohio and Elizabethtown, PA and she and her husband retired in Bethune, S.C. She was a member of the Bethune Baptist Church and until her illness was very active in the church. She cooked many meals for the church. She loved her children and was a wonderful Mother. She loved to cook and she enjoyed playing Bingo and Bridge with her friends. She also liked a good debate. She enjoyed watching sports on TV especially NASCAR.

Surviving are four children, Susan Bowles and husband Richard, Mt. Joy, PA, Sharon James and husband Brian, Shelby, Ohio, Sally King and husband, Thomas, Lititz, PA and Fred Coward and wife, Lori, Shelby, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and step grand and great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. She was the last of 11 children.

Mrs. coward was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert N. Coward, Sr. who passed away in 1999 and one son, Elbert N. " Butch " Coward, Jr. who passed away in 2013.
