Waylyn Langston Parnell

It is with sad hearts that we announce the death of Mrs. Waylyn Langston Parnell, age 89, who passed away December 1, 2024 while at MUSC Kershaw Health Medical Center, with her loving family by her side.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 at the Piedmont Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home, Bishopville Chapel. Rev. Lin Kirkman will officiate. Visitation will be following the graveside service and at other times at the residence of Mrs. Iris Hayes, 10 McCoy Lane, Bishopville, S.C.

Mrs. Parnell was born in Timmonsville a daughter of the late Claude S. Langston and Georgia Carter Langston. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bishopville.

Surviving are two daughters, Iris P. (Norman) Hayes, Bishopville and Claudia J. (Steve McGowen) Parnell, Columbia, S.C.; Two grandchildren, Jonathan (Amy) Hayes, of Lydia, S.C . and Brooke (Jason) Raley, Bishopville S.C.; one great granddaughter, Piper Raley, Bishopville, S.C.. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Brooks Hennis Parnell.
