Mr. Walter (Wootsie) Hopkins, age 91 went to his Heavenly Home on March 19 while at the McLeod Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 at the New Market United Methodist Church. Rev. Corinthia Mack will officiate. Burial will be in the Westview Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Wootsie was born in Hartsville a son of the late Walter James Hopkins and Lottie Mary Dean Hopkins. He was a faithful member of New Market United Methodist Church. He was a simple man and was always happy working around his land and cutting hair at Steen and Hopkins Barber Shop. He built his own house underground. He loved to hunt and fish but most of all he loved the Lord and his family.
Left to cherish his memory is one daughter, Diane (Joe) Euten, Hartsville; two step daughters, Donna (Joe) Kelly, Hartsville and Laurie (Guy) Levy, Camden; five step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sammie Skinner.

Memorials may be made to the New Market United Methodist Church, Operation Christmas Child Fund, 1909 West Old Camden Road, Hartsville, S.C. or the McLeod Hospice House, 1203 East Cheves Street, Florence, S.C. 29506.
