Walter Le Moree

Mr. Walter Le Moree, Jr. age 78 passed away June 21 while at home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 on Sunday afternoon, June 25th, 2023, from the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home.  Reverend Michael Gunter will officiate with burial following in the Beauford Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  

Mr. Moree was born in Chesterfield a son of the late Walter Thomas Moree and Nellie Jordan Moree. He worked at Milliken Mills from 1964 until it closed and then he worked at Sara Lee Mill where he retired. Then he worked at the Darlington County Recycling until his retirement in 2009.

Surviving are his wife, Penny Chandler O’Neal Moree, Hartsville; three daughters Betty Moree, McBee, Chandler Moree, Hartsville and Donna (Louie) Stewart, McBee; three sons, Carmel (Ashley) Myers, Hartsville, Andrew (Stephanie) Moree, Hartsville and Brandon (Magnolia) Moree, Hartsville; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; one sister, Sissie Gainey, Hartsville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Angela Moree Allen; one son Howard Moree; four brothers, Howard, William, John and Otis Moree; one sister Nita Anderson.
