Wallace Gainey

View Remembrance View Hartsville, S.C. Funeral services for Wallace Lee Gainey age 91, who passed away November 18, will be held Saturday at 3:00 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Jeff Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the Cedar Creek Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Gainey was born in Hartsville a son of the late Edward & Gladys Griggs Gainey. He was retired from DuPont, was the oldest male member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and was a Navy Veteran of WWII. Surviving are two sons: Wallace "Skeet"(Rosemary) Gainey of Columbiaand Mitchell (Jeannie) Gainey of Hartsville;two daughters, Sandra (David) Thatcher, Hartsville and Candee Gainey, Hartsville; eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Robbins Gainey and one daughter, Cynthia Kelly. Memorials may be made to the Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 1635 Cedar Creek Road, Hartsville, S.C. 29550.
