Virginia Childers

Virginia Kathleen Childers WOODRUFF: Virginia Kathleen Childers, 86, widow of Walter Lee Childers, of 507 Irby Street died, Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at her home. Born December 12, 1929 in Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of the late Harry Dallas and Seney Gray Dallas. She was retired from Siemens and a member of Enoree Church of God where she was a member of Young at Heart and the Senior Sunday School class. Surviving are sons, Cecil Childers (Martha) of Woodruff, Roger Childers (Linda) of Sykesville, MD, Dennis Childers (Sheryl) of Woodruff, Gary Childers (Anne) of Woodruff, Donald Childers (Brenda) of Hartsville daughter-in-law, Debra King Childers; sisters, Mary Lawrence and Nancy Laster both of Woodruff, Emily McCoy of Salina, Kansas; 21 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Ann Childers Holmes and a son Richard Childers. Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 at Enoree Church of God with the Rev. Jerry Barrineau officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary.
