Viola Griggs

Hartsville, S.C. Funeral services for Viola Horton Griggs, age 91,who went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 30, will be held Monday at 3:00 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church. Rev. Joey Colson and Rev. Tommy Gaskins will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday 3-5 pm at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Griggs was born in Camden a daughter of the late John W. & Grace Gaskins Horton. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, which she loved very much and loved to invite others to church. She was a member of The Encouragers Sunday School Class. She loved to work in her flowers. Surviving are one son, Sylvester (Margaret) Griggs, Patrick; two daughters, Sandra Martin, Society Hill and Judy (Danny) Melton, Hartsville; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sandy Griggs and a son, Howard Marvin Griggs.
