Vera Watkins Kelly

Hartsville – Mrs. Vera Mae Watkins Kelly, 82, passed away on September 10 at Morrell Nursing Center.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September  13, 2019, in Liberty Hill Church Cemetery officiated by Reverend Buddy Amerson.  The family will speak with friends and family following the service.

She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church and attended Spring Branch Baptist Church until her health declined. Vera loved flowers and her favorite pastime was working in her yard.  She was employed at Sonoco Products Co. and retired from Sara Lee Hosiery.

She is survived by her daughters, Vickie K. Lucas (Ronald) and Christy K. Woods (Bill) of Hartsville; grandchildren, Erin Lucas (Spenser O’Neal), Anna Lucas Byrd (Corey), Riley Woods (Alex Gray), Taylor Woods, (Kayla) all of Hartsville and Hali Lucas Swofford (Seth) of North Wilkesboro, NC; great grandchildren, Abby Childers, Jema Byrd, Tyla Woods, Coyt Byrd, Elam Swofford and Cullen O’Neal, and sister Jeanette W. Gainey of Hartsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Annie Mae Watkins, infant son, Johnnie Mason Kelly, Jr., great granddaughter, Sadie Jo Woods, and brothers, Carl Watkins and Marion Watkins.

The family of Vera Kelly would like to thank the staff of Morrell Nursing Center and Agape Hospice for the compassionate care that she received during her stay at the facility.
