Tommy Carson Gainey

Mr. Tommy Carson Gainey, 95, of Hartsville, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Thursday evening, February 25th, 2021, while at home with his family.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 on Thursday afternoon, March 4th, 2021, from Lakeview Baptist Church with Reverend Ken Hughes officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.  A private burial will follow the services.

A native and lifelong resident of Hartsville, Mr. Gainey was a son of the late Jackson B. & Mary Teal Gainey.  Tommy retired from Perfection Gear after many years of service and was a WWII Veteran who served our country in the United States Navy.  To know Tommy was to know his love and devotion to Christ Jesus.  After becoming saved many years ago, it was his desire to serve Christ by telling others about Him.  He was a proud member of Lakeview Baptist Church and involved himself in as many church functions as possible.

Surviving to cherish his memory are numerous family members who loved him greatly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred Gainey; and many family members.

In memory of Tommy and in lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Lakeview Baptist Church at 202 Lakeview Boulevard, Hartsville, South Carolina 29550.
