Funeral services for Thomas Laverne (Buckskinner) Rogers, Sr. age 77, will be held Tuesday at 3:00 in the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the New Market Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Rogers was born in Hartsville a son of the late John Henry Rogers, Jr. and Thelma Anderson Rogers. He worked at Sonoco Products Company and Galley & Lord. He was a life- long avid hunter and fisherman. He loved hunting, fishing, collecting knives and collecting old coins as well as watching old Westerns on TV. He always loved kids and grilling out with friends. He was a member of the Colonel Kolb Hunting Club.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas Laverne (Trae Crawford) Rogers, Jr., Saint Stephens, S.C. and John Willard Rogers, Charleston; one brother, Buddy Rogers, Patrick; one sister, Jo Anne Newman, Murrell’s Inlet, S.C.; Special Friend, Elaine Cowee, Saint Stephens, S.C.; Special Friend, Teresa Sweat, Society Hill, S.C.; two grandchildren; seven Great Grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jean Rogers; one brother, James Tarleton (Peanut) Rogers and one sister, Thelma Ruth Proctor.
