Terry Wayland Allen Sr passed away peacefully at Oak Harbor Care Center on November 20,2024, at the age of 77. Born on April 17, 1947 in Albemarle, NC. Terry lived a life rich in love, joy, and accomplishments.
A proud Vietnam Veteran, Terry served four years in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Sergeant before his Honorable discharge. Terry was a father to Antony, TJ, Scott, and Jon-Paul who dearly miss him and the life lessons he imparted to them.
His professional journey encompassed various places of work to include; Collins & Aikman in Albemarle, NC, Duke Energy (formerly Progressive Energy, formerly CP&L) in Hartsville, SC, Lowes Home Improvement in Hartsville, SC he was also the owner of Allen Ltd (a tax prep company) for over 30 years, he was a Notary Public of SC, and worked for Allied Security at Sonoco in Hartsville, SC before his strokes, where his dedication and expertise left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of working him.
Terry is survived by his children TJ (Julie) of Garner, NC; Scott (Amey) of Hartsville, SC; Jon-Paul (Amber) of Severn, MD, also survived by 5 grandchildren Joseph, Michael, Logan, Connor, and Pierce.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Ralph Allen Sr and Janie Lee Richardson. His ex-wife Roveta and his oldest child Antony.
Church services will be held Friday, November 29, 2024 at 11:00 am at the The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints at 981 W Carolina Ave, Hartsville, SC 29550 and the graveside services will be 2:00pm at the Florence National Cemetery 803 E National Cemetery Rd. Florence, SC 29506. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.
A special thank you goes out to Oak Harbor Care Center in Mt Pleasant, SC; Crescent Hospice in Charleston, SC for their loving care and kindness. Also, to Dr William Martin and staff at The Medical Group in Hartsville for the wonderful care provided.
