Mr. Stephen Lloyd Reames, 74, passed away on January 28, 2024 at The Legacy of Hartsville.

Born in Hartsville, SC, he was the son of Carol Spann Reames and Lola Mae Winburn Reames. He and his wife of 53 years, Janet Reames, were members of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Bishopville High School in 1968. Afterwards, he enlisted into the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War. He retired from Sherwin Williams as an industrial paint salesman for the Southeast Region. After retirement, he and Janet fulfilled their dream and moved to the Garden City/Murrells Inlet area to enjoy retirement near the ocean. Steve loved spending time fishing in his boat with fishing buddies and hanging out on the pier for his daily sunrise breakfast. He was a loving and kind husband, father, brother, uncle, and most of all Papa to his granddaughters.

Surviving is his daughter Tara R. Goff of Hartsville, son Joshua S. Reames (Danielle Reames) of Hartsville and granddaughters Sara Anna Goff, Ashlyn Goff, and Anna Bruce Reames; and siblings Jim Reames of Murrells Inlet, and Marsha Reames Bozard of Lugoff.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant daughter Sara Francis Reames and his beloved wife Janet R. Reames.

A private burial will be held later at Bethlehem Cemetery in Bishopville, directed by Norton Funeral Home, Bishopville.
