Stephen M. Petker passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, March 26th at the age of 79.
Throughout his life, Steve was proficient in many areas. He was a speech pathologist for the school systems, he owned several restaurants and enjoyed the roles of cooking and management. He loved working in the yard, golfing, building projects around the house and helping whenever someone was in need. Later in life, he was a published author and was very proud of his accomplishment. Many enjoyed his work and were hoping for a sequel!
He had a huge heart for his family, both two and four legged. He was a great example of a kindhearted man and a fantastic father full of support and wisdom. He loved making people laugh with his spastic dance moves, and never missed an opportunity to be goofy in public if it would make someone smile.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Aaron and Anne.
His memories will live on in the hearts of his wife Evelyn; children Aric (Alecia), Jason (Katie Ciccotelli), and Danielle Petker; sister Phyllis Cooper (Cliff Wolfe); grandchildren Ashley, Jessica, Chase, Aubrey and Lila; many nieces and nephews and a daughter in his heart Kim Anderson.
The family will be holding a private celebration of life and appreciate everyone's prayers and condolences. If you would like to make a donation in his honor please consider Tunnel to Towers, St. Jude's children Hospital or your local animal shelter.
until we see you again popsie...
