Stephen Newton

Hartsville, S.C. Stephen F. Newton, age 62, went to his Heavenly Home on January 27. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 at the West Hartsville Baptist Church. Rev. Kevin Walters will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday 5-7 at the Funeral Home. Stephen was born in Asheville, N.C. a son of the late Kenneth & DeAlva Donaldson Newton. He was a deacon at West Hartsville Baptist Church, attended Clemson University and graduated from the University South Carolina School of Pharmacy. He was employed with Eckerds Drug for 34 years. He loved to be outdoors and hunting & fishing were his passion. He dearly loved his family and his church family. He was a member of the Hartsville Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife: Janet Allen Newton, Hartsville; two brothers, Philip Newton, Greer, S.C. and Frank (Regina) Newton, Liberty; one sister, Ann Newton (Raymond) Haskins, Statesboro, GA; one step-son, Daniel Young, Hartsville; grandson, Avery Young, Hartsville; nieces, Erin Haskins, Statesboro, GA and Amanda (Phillip) Fanning, Orangeburg; nephews, Brandon Newton, Liberty, Grayson Newton, Liberty, Hayden Haskins, Statesboro, GA and Jason (Courtney) Sterling, Orangeburg.
