Sherrell Kay Lloyd

Hartsville - Mrs. Sherrell “Kay” Lloyd, 68, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 5th, 2019, at the McLeod Hospice House.

At her request, a private family gathering will be held at a future date.

Kay was born in Columbia, a daughter of the late John C. & Dorothy Rhodes Mello.  She worked with Blue Cross & Blue Shield until retirement in 2010.  Kay greatly loved spending time with her family and going to the beach.  She was a lady who will be remembered as someone who always loved doing for others and never wanting anything in return.  Also, she would say to you, GO TIGERS!

Kay is survived by her children: Ty (Tracie) Lloyd of Hartsville, Travis Lloyd of Swansea and Chad Lloyd of Charleston; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings: Hallie (Woody) Strickland, Jeannie (Jack) Gandy, Doris Green, and John “Buddy” (Lisa) Mello; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend,  Lee Shepherd.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Lloyd; parents; sister, Helen Crawford; and a granddaughter, Emily Jacobs.
