Shelby Blackwell Gardner

Mrs. Shelby Blackwell Gardner age 83 went to her Heavenly Home on March 1. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 4:00 at the Union Methodist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Paige Wheeler and Rev. Charlie Short will officiate. Visitation will be following the service at the gravesite. Anyone who would like to visit and see Mrs. Gardner may do so from 12:00 Noon until 2:00pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gardner was born in McBee a daughter of the late John Stafford Blackwell and Effie Mozingo Blackwell. She was a lifetime member of Union United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all.

Surviving are one son, David Gardner, Bethune; a sister she never had, Mrs. Shirley Gardner, Bethune; one grandson, Brandon Gardner, McBee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam William Gardner; one daughter, Denise Hunter; one granddaughter, Emily Gardner; two brothers, John Blackwell and Pete Junior Blackwell.
