Ronnie Haskell Tidwell

Mr. Ronnie Haskell Tidwell, 85, of Bethune, passed away Wednesday morning, September 6^th, 2023, while at Carolina Pines RMC, surrounded by his loving family.

A native and lifelong resident of Kershaw County, Mr. Tidwell was a son of the late Benton & Lizzy Kate Smith Tidwell.  He was a 4-year Veteran of the United States Military, serving in the Air Force.  He retired from Sonoco Products Company after 30 years of service.  Ronnie attended Bethune Presbyterian Church and had a true passion for gardening; later, he enjoyed the game of golf. 

Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 and 1/2 years, Betty Tidwell of the home; children, Ronnie (Donna) Tidwell, Jr. of North Augusta, SC and Laura “Tootsie” (John Kane) Brown of Santa Cruz, CA; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend special regards to: Tammy Inman, Allie Inman, Katherine Fix, Tat and Bengi.

His funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 on Friday afternoon, September 8^th, 2023, from the Hartsville Chapel of Norton Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Scotch Cemetery of Bethune and the family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
