Ronnie McKay "Cornbread" Gilbert

Mr. Ronnie McKay “Cornbread” Gilbert, 68, of Hartsville, passed away Tuesday, February 14^th, 2023.

His service will be conducted at 11:00 on Friday morning, February 17^th, 2023, from the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home.  Revered Marvin Jordan will officiate with burial following in Westview Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

A native and lifelong resident of Darlington County, Mr. Gilbert was a son of the late McKay & Vicey Prosser Gilbert.  Ronnie loved to fish and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  He retired as an Electrician from the Darlington County School System after 39 years of service. 

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Gilbert of the home; children, Rhonda Gilbert and Kimberly Gilbert both of Hartsville; grandchildren: Paul Lucas Heiser, Mya Allen, Carter McRae; siblings: Barbara Ann, Jack (Charlotte), Alice (Coyt), Marvin (Sandy), David, Stanley, and Loretta (Marty).

He was preceded in death by his parents.
