Robert Alvin Catoe

Funeral services for Robert Alvin Catoe age 95, will be held Friday at 11:00 at Harmony Baptist Church. Rev. Tracy Hinson and Mr. Barry Catoe will officiate. Burial will be in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Catoe was born in Bethune a son of the late Jim L. & Sallie Melton Catoe. He was the oldest member of Harmony Baptist Church, was Secretary of the Sunday School for over 30 years. He retired from Sonoco Products Company after 42 years of service and was a member of the Old Timers Club. His favorite hobby was gardening and raising chickens.

Surviving are one sister, Lottie Jo (Ken) Catoe, Bethune; two step children, Carlene (Dale) Walters, Hartsville and Faye (James) Harrell, Hartsville; three step grandchildren, Audrey (Tyler) Grantham, Catawba, Brandon Player, Virginia and Katie Basnett, Camden; one nephew, Barry (Sandra) Catoe, Bethune. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Graham Catoe and his 2nd wife Alice Brand Catoe, one sister, Margie McCaskill and one nephew, Steve Catoe.

The family would like to give a special Thank You to Mr. Catoe’s Caregivers, Tammy Coan, Ricky Smith and Dana DuBose.
