Memorial services for Richard Denore Smith, age 55, will be held Tuesday at 3:00 at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Hazel Mixon, Rev. James McDougald and Rev. Terry Smith will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Richard was born in Hartsville a son of Betty King Smith and the late Marion Smith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Surviving are his wife, Deborah Strickland Smith, Hartsville; six children, Trena Johnson, Bobby Ray Lewis, Kristen Smith, Alexis Lewis, Rion (Dooley) Smith and Abigail Byrd, all of Hartsville; six brothers, Tommy Smith, Michael Smith, Robbie Smith, Hartsville, Rev. Terry Smith, Blenheim, Donnie Smith, Aiken and Ronnie Smith, Hartsville; four grandchildren, Raleigh Johnson, July Johnson, Hartsville, Jake Hicks and Mason Hicks, Lamar. He was preceded in death by a daughter Ashley Smith.
