Rev. Ivey Strickland

Hartsville, S.C. Funeral services for Rev. Ivey Jennings (I.J.) Strickland, Jr. age 80, who went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 28, will be held Saturday at 2:00 at the Clyde Church of God. Rev. Hazel Mixon and Rev. Steve Winburn will officiate. Burial will be in the Clyde Church of God Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday 5-7 pm at the Funeral Home. Rev. Strickland was born in Green Sea, a son of the late Ivey Jennings Strickland, Sr. and Vivian Williamson Strickland. He was an ordained minister of the Church of God, having served 12 Churches in South Carolina for over 43 years. After retirement he continued to be very active in the ministry. He was a loving husband, father , grandfather and great grandfather. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Lona Faye Moore Strickland, Hartsville; one daughter, Sharon (Michael) Fales, Hartsville; four sons, Daryl Strickland, Hartsville, Dwayne (Sandy) Strickland, Varnville, Derrick (Michele) Strickland, Edgefield and Stacey (Tammy) Strickland, Bethune; one sister, Aquila (Sam) Grant, Chester; Nine Grandchildren; seven Great Grandchildren.
