Rev. Dargan Atkinson

Hartsville, S.C. Funeral services for Rev. Dargan F. Atkinson, age 83, who passed away Sunday February 17 after a brief illness in Salisbury, N.C., will be held Thursday at 2:00 at Souls Harbor Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hartsville. Pastor Wayne Windham, Bishop Gregg Amos, and Rev. Kenneth Compton will officiate. Burial will be Friday at 2:00 pm at Greenlawn Cemetery in Great Falls, S.C. directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday 6-8 pm at the Funeral Home. Rev. Atkinson was born in Chesterfield a son of the late Frank & Florence Isgett Atkinson. He was licensed as a Pentecostal Holiness Minister in 1959 and was ordained in 1962 and retired in 1997. He served 12 churches during his ministry including, Red Oak & Edisto in Cottageville, Moncks Corner, Andrews, S.C., St. Andrews in Charleston, Great Falls, McColl, Camden and Hamlet, Broad Swamp in Kingstree, Friendfield and First P.H. Church in Hartsville. After his retirement he became a member of Souls Harbor Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hartsville. Surviving are his wife, Marie Dismuke Atkinson, Hartsville; one daughter, Rachiel (Charles) Fuller, Salisbury, N.C.; three sons, Derrell (Janet) Atkinson, Great Falls, Warren (Tammie) Atkinson, Easley and Scott (Miranda) Atkinson, Scranton; one brother, Heyward Atkinson, Hartsville; one sister, Myrtle Stokes, Hartsville; 11 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
