Ressie Smith

Graveside service for Ressie Humphrey Smith age 95, will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at the Magnolia Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. James E. Beck, Jr. will officiate. Visitation will be following the service at the graveside.

Mrs. Smith was born in Hartsville a daughter of the late Charlie H. and Ressie Parker Humphrey. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She loved to travel, loved the outdoors and her flowers.

Surviving are one son, Robert (Hayne) Smith, Monroe; one daughter, Ressie (Rev. Van) Nelson, Winston Salem; seven grandchildren, Lara Grantham, Amy MacPherson, Robert Smith, Jr., Rebecca Nelson, Heather Ronk, Alan Nelson and Beth Russo; nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband William Thomas (WT) Smith, Sr.; son, William T. Smith, Jr.
