It is with sad hearts that we announce the death of Mrs. Renee Tallon Peavy. Mrs. Peavy age 68 passed away on January 26, 2025 while at MUSC in Charleston.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday January 31, 2025, at The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. Burial will be at 1:00 on January 31 at the Florence National Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 at the funeral home.
Renee was a loving and devoted wife to her late husband, Jimmy Peavy for 46 years.
Most of her career was spent at Sonoco where she worked for 35 plus years, officially retiring in July of 2022 as a Senior Customer Service Rep in the Tube and Core division.
Renee faithfully served in the church in various leadership capacities and others, which included Stake Young Women's President, Ward Relief Society, Young Women's and Primary President, seminary teacher, and a member of the choir. Many of these callings she served in multiple times throughout her life. She always looked to help others as the Lord did, and did so quietly, displaying her true love for her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
She never missed a chance to watch her beloved sports teams, the Atlanta Braves and the South Carolina Gamecocks with an episode of Wheel of Fortune in between.
She enjoyed spending time with all of her family, and their home was where our families always gathered. She loved traveling with her sister Ann, receiving prank Christmas gifts from her brother Demp, and her late brother Chris' fried turkey.
Surviving are three sons, James L. "Jay" Peavy, Jr. and his wife Emily, Hartsville, Matthew Tallon Peavy and his wife, Lauren, Hartsville and William Lane "Will" Peavy and his wife, Nicole, Hartsville; one sister, Ann Keith, Mount Pleasant; one brother, Demp Tallon, Hartsville; one grandchild, Carter Peavy; step grandchildren, Landon Miller, Mataki Horn, Luke Horn and Maddie Horn and many nieces and nephews.
We would also like to thank all of those that lovingly assisted and cared for mom during her health trials. We will miss her loving smile and spirit, but we are forever grateful for the lessons we have learned from her.
"A Life So Beautifully Lived, Should Be Beautifully Remembered".
Norton Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to serve the Peavy family.
