Ralph Segars

Ralph Woodham Segars, Jr. age 87 went to his Heavenly Home on May 14. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 at the Savannah Advent Christian Church. Rev. John Gallagher and Rev. Charles McLendon will officiate. Burial will be in the Savannah Advent Christian Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Segars was born in Hartsville a son of the late Ralph Woodham Segars, Sr. and Hettie Fields Segars. He was a member of Savannah Advent Christian Church and was retired from the Department of Agriculture after 42 years of service.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He enjoyed being a faithful servant and member of his church where he held numerous positions over the years.  His favorite pastimes included playing cards and board games as well as watching all types of sports, especially Clemson football.  He attended all programs, concerts and sporting events in which his grandsons were involved.

Surviving are his wife, Linda King Segars, Hartsville; three daughters, Tonda (Reggie) Gainey, Hartsville, Shawn (Mitch) Little, Florence and April (John) Crawley, Hartsville; six grandsons, Bennett Gainey, Caleb Little, Bryson Little, Duncan Crawley, Cameron Crawley and Braden Crawley; sister in law, Sylvia Ewing, Hartsville. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Era Mae Mozingo and Helen Segars Kelley.
