Ralph McCaskill

Funeral services for Ralph Tally McCaskill age 90, will be held Wednesday at 2:00 at the Bethune Baptist Church. Rev. Steven Pace and Rev. Jeff Cockrell will officiate. Burial will be in the Bethune Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville. Visitation will be Tuesday 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. McCaskill was born in Bethune a son of the late Edward Small and Maude Jones McCaskill. He was retired from DuPont after 30 years of service and loved farming. He was a member of the Bethune Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and many other positions at the church. He was a Veteran of WW II having been a Paratrooper and made his first jump on his 19th birthday. He served in the Pacific Theater. He loved his family and enjoyed camping.

Surviving are his daughter, Beverly (Jimmy) Farmer, Bethune; four sons, Winfield (Kathy) McCaskill, Bethune, Dennis (Martha) McCaskill, Jefferson, Michael (Robin) McCaskill, McBee and Kenneth (Sarah) McCaskill, Bethune; 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; one brother, Edward Smith (Gail) McCaskill, Bethune; one sister, Iris Estridge, Bethune. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVaughn Deese McCaskill and a brother Marvin J. McCaskill.
