Bishopville - Mr. Paul Edward Bassham, 75, passed away Saturday morning, August 10th, 2019, at the Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia.
A graveside service with military honors provided by Joint Base Charleston will be held at 10:00 on Monday morning, August 19th, 2019, from the Florence National Cemetery.
Born in Oceana, West Virginia, Paul was a son of the late Paul & Margie Blackburn Bassham. He served in the United States Air Force from October of 1961 until August of 1966. While serving our country, he was a Crypt Analyst stationed in Da Nang, Vietnam. Paul worked for a short time with Ford Motor Company of Trenton, Michigan and later worked for 30 years in the coal mines of West Virginia.
Surviving are his wife, Dawn Bassham of Bishopville; sons, Aaron (Stacey DeLaReintrie) Bassham of Louisville, Kentucky and Jason (Barbie) Bassham of Horseheads, New York; grandsons, Henry Bassham and Calvin Bassham of Horseheads, New York; siblings: Angeline Bassham of Man, West Virginia, Charles Bassham of Gainesville, Georgia, David Bassham of Spring Valley, West Virginia, Vickie Deardorff of Titusville, Florida, Rick Bassham of Foster, West Virginia, and Tim Bassham of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Doraleigh Deskins and Joe Bassham.
Norton Funeral Home of Bishopville is honored to be serving the Bassham family.
