Patricia Gandy Byrd

Graveside services of Remembrance for Patricia Gandy Byrd age 76 will be held 4:00pm Friday at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pastor Scott Davis will officiate, directed by Norton Funeral Home.  Visitation will follow the services at the graveside.  The family will be meeting at the residence of Bob Gandy, 911 Family Road, McBee, SC 29010.  Family and friends are welcome to visit the funeral home on Friday from 10:00am-2:00pm to view Mrs. Byrd and sign her register book.

Patricia passed away at her residence, on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.  She was born in Hartsville, SC the daughter of the late John Eugene and Jesse Mae Reddick Gandy.  She had previously worked at Hartsville Manufacturing, Belk and most recently was self employed as a seamstress.  She was a wonderful cook, and well known for her macaroni and cheese.  She was an avid reader and liked to travel.  She loved and cherished her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Allen Byrd, Hartsville; daughter, Sherrie Byrd, Hartsville; son, Tim (Sandy) Byrd, Darlington; grandchildren, Tori Byrd and Taylor Byrd both from Darlington; brothers, Bob (Gwen) Gandy, McBee, Buddy Gandy, Hartsville; sister, Marilyn Fields, Florence; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Francis Gandy and Janice Gandy.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Patricia’s caregiver for the last few months, Annie Simon.
