Pam Raellen Hawkins went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, after fighting a good fight, finishing her course, and keeping the faith, as Jesus calls all His children to do.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Sunday at 4:00 pm at the First Southern Methodist Church directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Philip Fulmer will officiate. Visitation will be from 3-4 at the church.
Pam was born on February 21,1970, to Sherry Neal and the late June T. Neal (Santa Claus) in Livingston Parish, LA. She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond LA with a B.A. degree in Elementary Education.
She and her husband Chuck met as young adults and dated for a few months before getting married on March 13, 1991. After Chuck was called into the ministry in 1998, Pam served faithfully with her husband as they moved to Orangeburg, SC with their two young children for him to pursue his pastoral education. Pam homeschooled their children and helped support the family by teaching at two Christian schools near Orangeburg. She and Chuck pursued training together with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) and enjoyed spreading the gospel to children through the Good News Club. God also used that training as Pam and Chuck served in Southern Methodist Youth Camps for the Eastern Annual Conference.
Pam was an integral part of Chuck’s ministry at the churches that he served as pastor, always supporting him in serving the Lord and went with him to visit and to encourage those who were hurting. Even though their ministry brought them to South Carolina, she and Chuck still enjoyed their cajun roots and enjoyed being able to return to Louisiana to enjoy the local food and traditions. Pam enjoyed baking, knitting, and crocheting along with involving her children with her crafts.
In the last few years, Pam was diagnosed with several severe cardiac issues, yet she did not let that deter her from serving the Lord and helping Chuck in ministry, although she was very limited in doing what she had been able to do before. Then on April 9, God made it clear that He had better things in store for her to be with Him and that she had completed her work on this earth, and He sent for her to come home to Him.
Pam leaves behind a tremendous legacy to her family. She is survived by her husband Rev. Chuck Hawkins, her son Rev. Dustin (Courtney) Hawkins, her daughter Heather (Chad) Hastings, three lovely grandchildren Benjamin Hawkins, Lydia Hastings, and Grace Hastings. In addition, she is survived by her mother Sherry Neal along with her sisters Karen Neal, Linda Conrad, Becky Hatton, and Sarah Neal. She also leaves behind her niece and nephews, Eddie Meads, Joseph (Emma) Meads, Felicity (Andrew) Plate, grandniece Claralynn Meads, and extended family along with many friends who will miss her.
For those who know Jesus, this is not a good-bye because we have the promise to see her again. She has received the ultimate healing and is celebrating while she waits for us to arrive.
