Mr. Norman LaFrance Bennett, Jr. age 53 passed away October 20 at Carolina Pines RMC. A celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday at 3:00 at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home, Bishopville. Rev. Champ Squires, Rev. Ann Chavis and Rev. Ken Sturgeon will officiate. Burial will be in the Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service and at other times at 316 S. Heyward Street, Bishopville.

Funny and warm, a giver to his core. When he smiled or laughed you felt it. He hunted the deer and loved to fish the big Pee Dee. He loved most of all his people. You knew if you were under his circle of protection. He knew loyalty and had a bravery that is rare in this world.  His sense of humor and wit were a gift to us. The memories we have because of who he was are too many to count.  Those who loved him will be forever changed by being a part of him, changed by his rugged love, fierce protection, and kindness. His strength and sincerity were something that he wore so easily. A gentleman, a jokester, and a lover of gravy, he lived full out and we loved him for it.
