Murry Albert "Bert" Tedder

Mr. Murry Albert “Bert” Tedder, 87, of Hartsville, went to his Heavenly home on Saturday afternoon, April 22^nd, 2023, while at home with his loving family.

A native of Hartsville, Mr. Tedder was a son of the late Murry Carlton & Janie Marsh Tedder.  He graduated from Hartsville High School in 1953, attended The Citadel, and the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland.

Bert spent his adult life working as a Technological Engineer with Saudi Aramco and NASA; enjoying many experiences throughout the world.  He retired in Hartsville, where he was a member of Forest Hills Independent Baptist Church and had a passion for fishing and gardening. 

Surviving is his wife, Justine Forte Watson Tedder of the home; son, Murry Carlton Tedder of Morristown, PA; siblings: Mary Turner, Charles (Linda) Tedder, and Guy (Melissa) O’Neal; several nieces and nephews; step-son, Jay (Susan) Watson; four step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; previous wife, Jo Elmore Tedder; and a brother-in-law, Buddy Turner. 

A family-led memorial service will be held at 4:00 on Saturday afternoon, May 6^th, 2023, from Forest Hills Independent Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Murray officiating.  The family will be speaking with friends following the service at the church.
