Mrs. Sara Lee

Services for Sara Hodges Griggs Lee age 90 will be held on Wednesday at 4:00pm at Wilkes Chapel United Methodist Church. Pastor Burch Kelly will officiate, directed by Norton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 5-7pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lee passed away on August 6, 2017. She was born in Hartsville, the daughter of the late Paul E. and Nora Brown Hodges. She enjoyed spending time gardening and growing flowers. She was a talented seamstress, she made thousands of lap blankets and donated them to local nursing homes, some of her blankets made it as far away as Nicaragua. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Surviving are daughters, Bea Byrd, Hartsville, Gail Swan, Bremen, GA; brother, Donald (Margaret) Hodges, Hartsville; grandchildren, Jason Byrd, Jennifer (Mike) Patsches, Amanda Byrd; great grandchild, Fisher Patsches; special cousin, Willie Faye Morris. Special caregiver Johnny Byrd.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Russell Kelly Griggs, Hoyt C. Lee; sons, Harold Griggs, Cecil Griggs; sister, Nellie Therrell; brothers, Edward Hodges, Earl Hodges, Bill Hodges, James Hodges.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Embrace Hospice for the care they provided during Mrs. Lee's sickness.
