Mrs. Martha Benson

Funeral services for Martha Kelley Benson age 93 widow of Woodrow Travis Benson will be held Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 3:00pm at Kelleytown Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church 1:30-3:00pm.

Mrs. Benson passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016. She was born in Hartsville the daughter of the late Jacob Graham and Janie Irene Grantham Kelley. She was a member of Kelleytown Baptist Church where she taught children's preschool Sunday School and helped organize the church library. Mrs. Benson helped with the start of Ruth's Drive In, when it started in the back of J.Z. Grantham's Store. She worked a the Glamour Shop/Kings Fashion as a retail manager.

Surviving are her daughters, Carolyn B. Daubenspeck, Hartsville, Jackie B. Byrd, Florence; brothers, Jim Frank Kelley, Hartsville, James Heyward Kelley, Florence; grandchildren, Gigi Smith, Dede Keckeis, Chad Shearon, Rod Shearon, Angie Marlowe and Sharon Roberts; 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Delmus Kelley, Sam Jennings Kelley and Robert Kelley.
