Mrs. Carolyn Griggs

Funeral services for Carolyn Teal Griggs, age 71, will be held Friday at 4:00 at the Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Jeff Williams and Rev. Dr. Ernest Winburn will officiate. Burial will be in the Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Carolyn was born in Hartsville a daughter of the late Lester Teal and Mary Winburn Teal Griggs. She was retired from Sonoco Products Company, a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church where she served as past Treasurer of the church, a member of the church social committee, taught the Pre School Sunday School Class and was Secretary-Treasurer of the Meredian Sunday School Class. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to everyone.

Surviving are her husband, Wilson Griggs, Hartsville; two sons, Jim (Lisa) Griggs, Elgin and Timothy (Karen) Griggs, Patrick; one sister, Janelle (Walter) Britt, Hartsville; brother in law, Olin Griggs, Hartsville; step brother, Loran (Linda) Griggs, Hartsville; step sister, Elaine (Marvin) Whittle, Hartsville; four grandchildren, Ethan & Raegan Griggs, Patrick; Anna Caroline & and Ainsley Griggs, Elgin. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Miriam Griggs and Jean Howle.
