Mr. Robert Murphy

Graveside services for Robert Glenn Murphy, age 53, will be held Thursday at 3:00 at the Westview Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. John Kakish will officiate. Visitation will be 1:30 – 2:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Glenn was born in Hartsville a son of Harold C. Murphy and the late Rita Aldridge Murphy. After graduating from Hartsville High School, Glenn went to work with his Dad Harold Murphy, who owned and operated Economy Heating and Air Conditioning Company for forty-five years. They worked together for twenty five years. He became the sole-owner of the business when his Dad retired. In addition to Heating & AC repair and installation, he was a gifted electrician, plumber and carpenter. Glenn was also a licensed Pilot. He built two airplanes and he really enjoyed flying them. But, what he enjoyed most in life was spending time with his Dad and riding his Harley.

Surviving are his father Harold Murphy and Step-Mother, Diann Murphy, Hartsville; sister, Brenda Murphy (Dean) Wilson, Columbia; Step-Brother, Doug (Cynthia) Kendall, Elgin; two step-sisters, Nancy (David) Williamson, Hartsville and Christie Kendall, Hartsville; Nephew, Lance Kendall, Hartsville.
