Mr. Ray Baker

A Celebration of Life services for Mr. Ray E. Baker age 60 will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 6:00pm at the Cherryvale Baptist Church in Sumter, SC. Rev. Mike Keenan and Rev. Marion Watkins will officiate. A visitation for the family will be held at the church.
Ray passed away on July 6, 2016 at his residence.

He was born in Sumter the son of Frances Humphries Hatfield and the late Ray William Baker, Sr. He attended Cherryvale Baptist Church, was an avid Nascar Fan and he was well known as an excellent painter.

Surviving are his mother of Bishopville; wife, Wendy Baker, Sumter; daughter, Summer (Adam) Bowen, Dalzell; grandchildren, Gage and Layne Bowen, both of Dalzell; sisters, Cindy (David) McArthur, Stockbridge, GA; brothers, Timmy (Tammy) Baker, Sumter, Mark Baker, Bishopville; adopted sister, Elizabeth Sohneman, NY; step siblings, Ann (Billy) Taylor, Sumter, Bobby (Tonya) Hatfield, Blythewood, Sherry West, Manning; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Charlene Wilson. The family would like to give a special thanks to his caregiver, Jason Jackson.
