Funeral services for Mr. Clifton “Cliff” LeVon Jones, Sr. age 84 will be held on Monday at 3:00pm at St. Luke United Methodist Church. Rev. Gene Feagin will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Sunday 3-5pm at Norton Funeral Home.
Mr. Jones passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 at McLeod Hospice House. He was born in Maxton, NC the son of the late Colon Lyon and Anna LeVietta McRae Jones. Cliff was a graduate of Presbyterian College and served his country in the US Army. He was the former president and general manager of Southern Office Supply in Hartsville, which he operated for over 40 years. During his career in Hartsville, he had served in many civic and community projects. Active in Cub Scouting, he had also served as president and lieutenant governor of the former Civitan Club, chairman of the Hartsville Merchants Division, Board of Visitors of Coker College, Board of Directors at Byerly Hospital, Carolina Office Products Association and Mutual Savings Bank. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where he served as church treasurer and Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Mary Anne Easterling Jones, Hartsville; several nieces and nephews; a special dear friend, Doris Hayes, Hartsville.
He was preceded in death by his son Clifton (Cliffie) LeVon Jones, Jr., daughter, Margaret Denise (Nessie) Jones, sister, Irene Jones Watts and a brother, Halbert Jones.
