Mr. Cecil Ray Winburn age 88, husband of the late Carolyn Norwood Winburn, went to his Heavenly home on December 3, 2024 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC with his son and daughter in law by his side. 

Cecil was born on April 20, 1936 in Hartsville, SC, he was the son of the late Allen and Minnie Johnson Winburn. He was the seventh of eight children and spent all his life in Hartsville. 

He was a graduate of Hartsville High School in 1955 and went on to serve his country as a U. S. Marine, where he was meritoriously promoted throughout his career. He was employed and retired from Sonoco Products Company. Cecil enjoyed the outdoors, he was a talented bow hunter, fisherman, competitive skeet and trap shooter. He was a very talented artist, who had created several carvings and hunting scenes that were displayed throughout the house. Cecil served his Lord and Saviour at First Baptist Church, he was active with the Mission Bazaar and represented his church on a mission trip.

He loved his family and cherished his grandchildren who affectionately called him “Pa”.

Left to cherish his memory are one son, Greg (Amanda) Winburn, Anderson, SC; one daughter, Melanie (Dan) Gibson, Holly Springs, NC; three grandchildren, Hannah, Emma and Caleb.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Winburn, Kenneth Winburn, Nessie Barrett, Bessie Braddock, Beulah Stogner, Rosine Lyles and Betty Williams.

Memorial services are incomplete at this time.
