Mr. Bingham Randolph Davis, Jr., a distinguished civil engineer and beloved family man, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on February 18, 1936, in Bishopville, South Carolina, Bingham grew up on a farm where the values of hard work and dedication were ingrained in him from an early age. He spent countless hours working in the cotton fields and caring for the animals that inhabited the family farm, experiences that shaped his character and instilled a strong work ethic that would follow him throughout his life.
Bingham proudly served his country in the United States Army Airborne Division, dedicating himself to a period of service that exemplified courage and commitment. After completing his military service, he embraced his passion for engineering, embarking on a successful career as a civil engineer, where he made significant contributions to the field.
In a delightful twist of fate, Bingham met his first wife, Yvette Germaine, on a blind date while bowling in Charleston, SC. Bingham was not only an accomplished professional, but he also indulged in the joys of life outside of work. He was an avid and competitive golfer and had a deep-seated love for bowling, competing at a professional level that showcased his talent and passion.
Family and friends remember Bingham fondly for his warm spirit and vibrant personality. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Renee Elizabeth Davis O'Neil (William) of Silver Spring, MD; his brother, Francis Lee Davis of Bishopville; and his step-children, Douglas Jeffers of Louisville, KY, Deborah Jeffers of Maryland, Scott Simpson (Jennifer) of Fairfax, VA, and Shaun Simpson (Mary) of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bingham Randolph Davis, Sr. and Earlene Madge Brown Davis, as well as his beloved wife, Rosa M. Davis. Bingham's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.
