Mollie Stephens Byrd

Mrs. Dora Elizabeth “Mollie” Stephens Byrd age 94 went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 30, 2021.  Due to the Covid19 Pandemic the family has requested a private family service only.

Mrs. Byrd was born in Bishopville the daughter of the late A.L. “Link” and Irene Melton Stephens.  She enjoyed gardening, loved her flowers, growing tomato plants and cooking.  Her family enjoyed her home cooked meals that she prepared every Sunday for many years.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Rodney (Beth) Byrd, Hartsville; daughter, Linda Byrd, Hartsville; grandchildren, Scott (Marianne) Norton, Candace Norton, Laurin Jeter (Kip) Byrd, III, Rodney “Roddy” (Katelyn) Byrd, Jr.; great grandchildren, Kirsten Grace Norton and  Rodney “Sonny” Byrd, III; daughter in law, Barbara Byrd.

The family would like to give a special thanks to caregivers Linda Smith and Jamie Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband Laurin Jeter Byrd, Sr., son, Laurin Jeter Byrd, Jr., siblings, John, Plummer, James, Bill, Elisha, Elijah, Lucile and Mary.
