Michelle "Micah" Mercer

Dillon, SC

     Michelle Anna Mercer, known affectionately as Micah, passed away on August 15th, 2024, in Dillon, South Carolina, at the age of 62. Born on February 21st, 1962, in Galesburg, Illinois, Micah Led a life marked by dedication and service.

     Micah proudly served in the Army’s 6th Regiment Military Police for four years, a testament to his commitment to honor and integrity. After his military service, he continued his career in law enforcement with the Galesburg Sheriff’s Department until he was disabled. 

     Micah was a man who cherished his family and the simple pleasures in life. He loved spending time at the beach, where he found peace and relaxation. His devotion to his family was evident, as he deeply loved his fiancée, Melissa Lewis of Dillon, SC, and his stepdaughter, Alissia Lewis. His grandchildren, Kaiden and Little Miss B., brought immense joy to his life.

     He is survived by his brother, Andy Mcclinsey of Galesburg, IL, his fiancée, Melissa, his stepdaughter, Alissia, and his beloved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Mercer. 

     Micah’s life will be remembered as one lived with unwavering integrity and a profound commitment to his family and community.
