It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mr. Michael Eugene Fales. Mr. Fales age 69 passed away at his residence on Monday, November 4, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
A man of numerous talents and a heart full of love for his family, Michael dedicated 36 years of devoted service to Duke Energy before retiring, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. Michael was not just a devoted employee; he was an exceptional carpenter whose skill and craftsmanship were evident in every project he undertook. His passions extended beyond just work; he found joy in nature through hunting, fishing, and golfing, and relished many delightful moments spent visiting the beach. The memories he fashioned while spending time with his family remain a cherished testament to the love he had for them.
In his faith, Michael was a pillar within the Clyde Church of God, where he served as an usher and participated actively in the Men's Ministry, embodying the spirit of service that resonated deeply within him. His involvement in the church illustrated his dedication not only to his faith but also to nurturing a community of love and support.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 48 years, Sharon Strickland Fales, their daughters Carla Tyner (Andy) and Kaley Pope (Robert), all residing in Hartsville. His family is further blessed to carry on his legacy through his grandchildren, Landon Tyner, Braylen Woodell, and Gracelen Woodell, who brought immeasurable joy to his life.
He is reunited now with those who preceded him in death: his parents, David McKinley Fales and Sara Lee Shumate Fales, as well as his siblings, Jerry Fales, Judy Blackwell, and Brenda Gainey.
Visitation for Michael Fales will be held on November 5, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Norton Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 1414 West Carolina Avenue, Hartsville, South Carolina. A funeral service will be conducted on November 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Clyde Church of God, followed by his burial in the Clyde Church of God Cemetery.
Norton Funeral Home and Crematory are honored to be of service to the Fales family.
