Mary Johnson Gainey

Mrs. Mary Johnson Gainey, 90, of Hartsville, went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday morning, October 15^th, 2022, while at The Legacy surrounded by her family.

Her service will be conducted by the graveside of Westview Cemetery at 2:00 on Sunday afternoon, October 16^th, 2022, with Reverend Charles McLendon officiating.  The family will be speaking with friends following the service at the graveside.

A native and lifelong resident of Hartsville, Mrs. Gainey was a daughter of the late Jesse & Ethel Easterling Johnson.  Mary was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church and a retiree of Suburban Propane after 40+ years of service.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing games and cards, but her true and first love was her family. 

Surviving to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Tom & Shari Gainey of Carrollton, GA; grandchildren, Nick (Emma) Gainey of Alpharetta, GA and Darby Gainey of Charlotte, NC; siblings, William Jesse Johnson and Helen Joyce Barefoot; also numerous nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Wesley Gainey; a brother, Billy G. Johnson, Sr. and a sister, Mildred Ann Stephens.
