Hartsville – Ms. Mary Alice Beasley, 67, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 21st, 2019, at the Carriage House with her family at the bedside.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 on Tuesday afternoon, September 24th, 2019, from the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home. Reverend Hazel Mixon and Reverend Charles McClendon will officiate with burial following in the Savannah Advent Christian Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Also, the family is meeting at the home of her niece, Trancy King at 1015 Ousleydale Road in Hartsville.
A native of Bishopville, Alice was a daughter of the late William Bill & Addie Mae Davis Matuse. She worked in the medical field at the Lee County Hospital and later retired from Mafco of McBee. Alice loved the outdoors, walking, and spending time with her friends.
Surviving are one sister, Sallie Mumford of Columbia; brother, Tillman (Joan) Matuse of Hartsville; sister-in-law, Cathy Matuse of Hartsville; nieces: Trancy (Marcus) King, Cindy (Randy) Hutson, and Melissa (David) Crowley all of Hartsville, nephews, Bobby (Debbie) Lewis and George Matuse, Jr. both of Hartsville; lifelong friend, Harold Beasley of Hartsville; and extended nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: William Matuse, Henry Lee Matuse, Jennings Matuse, and George Matuse, Sr.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Carriage House and Agape Hospice for their care of Ms. Beasley during her illness.
